What’s your favourite food? Chicken, fish? Or maybe it’s ham? Whenever you eat these foods, do you ever wonder how it ended up in the store, where did you get it from? Most likely it was killed. Now just hunting animals for food isn’t that bad, all animals need to hunt their food to eat it, and we also need protein, but some people do it just for fun. “Apparently” it’s a “sport,” but I don’t think you should kill a LIVING BEING, just like you and I, just for fun.

One reason I think this way is, because hunting in fact, is killing 100 million animals each year in the United States of America alone. Some animals become endangered or even extinct. For example the Tasmanian tiger is extinct along with the great Auk, and the Tasmanian devil (or T-Devil) is endangered. Giant Pandas and Seals are in danger too. Even if the animal takes about one bullet shot, and then runs away, it’s still got harmed (which is the intend of hunting animals) and eventually will die a slow painful death because of the infection, lack of ability to find and hunt food (if the animal is a carnivore), or lack of blood.

Bullets aren’t the only way of killing animals. Believe it or not, people that are just out camping, contribute to the killing as well. When you have a campfire, and you put it out sometimes there still is smoke left, and that smoke can re-ignite, and cause a wildfire. When you’re out in the woods and you’re eating a bag of chips or something with plastic in it, most people don’t wait to find a garbage can to go through it out. Some have a garbage a couple meters away, but are just too lazy to go and through it out. They just drop it on the floor, or in the water, and then animals eat it thinking it as food. Then they get really sick and sometimes even die.

You know how some say “oh let’s go hunting. It’s a sport right. And sports are supposed to be fun.” Well yes it is a sport and some may think its “fun”. But think of it, do you really think that killing life is fun. Put yourself in the animal’s shoes; you’re just walking down the river to the watering hole to get a drink, suddenly you see these weird animals come out of the bushes with weird fur coats and big sticks pointing at you. You try to run but they have you surrounded. Next thing you know BANG. And you’re on the ground in pain. You look up to see what happen, and you see these gorillas dancing and laughing around you for some time. Then they just leave. You’re in terrible pain, and slowly you start to die. And the hunters, ha, they’re long gone not even caring what happen to you.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that life is a God given gift, and no one has the right to take it away. Animals are just like you and I, and I’m sure they also want to live a full life. They too have feelings. Man can harm animals a lot, but if we take measures, we can also help. Instead of hunting for food too much, we can use other forms of protein like; lentils and soy beans (meat is still the best form of protein). We can adopt an animal, meaning donating money to animal shelters, so that they can build more hunt free zones, hire more biologists to help protect animals. You could also volunteer in helping wild life federations like; World Wildlife Federation (WWF) (which our school is donating to), there is also Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF). You could also do little everyday things like; not littering, compost more to reduce the amount of landfills, so that animals don’t go and eat stuff from in there, and there’s a whole lot more. And remember hunting for fun, not such a good idea.

Life isn’t really that long and you spend it making choices. If you make bad choices you’ll do bad things, and that time will be wasted. What I’m trying to say is that life is short, and you should use it wisely. Make good choices in life so that you can end life thinking, “I did good things in my life. I’m proud”.

Co-Ed gym class is a combination of boys and girls participating in physical education. Teams are usually mixed with boys and girls. Since boys and girls are generally interested in different activities, they obviously compete at different levels. For these reasons, Co-Ed gym classes should not be offered in schools.

Dance, aerobics, and gymnastics are a few activities that prove my first point. Boys and girls have different levels of interest in different activities. Imagine the excitement a grade 7 boy would show when the teacher announces it’s time for gymnastics. Most boys don’t like it. Just like most girls don’t like to wrestle or play contact sports. These are just a few examples of how interest levels differ between boys and girls in a Co-Ed class.

Boys and girls have different comfort zones. Since most girls feel more comfortable participating in activities with other girls, it would be easier to have girls separated from boys for various religious and cultural reasons. As a female, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing various physical activities around boys. Girls and boys have different issues while participating in activities and if they were separated, those issues will not be as big of a problem.

The most obvious difference between boys and girls is the level of ability to do the activities. For example; in weight training, boys are able to excel to a higher level. This is intimidating to most of the girls, which in turn prevents them from participating to their fullest ability. Individuals might hold back their skill level if faced against a lower skilled student. In wrestling, a boy would rather wrestle another boy without holding back, than wrestle a girl and be worried that they will “hurt her.”

Due to the differences in interest in activities, personal comfort zones, and levels of strength and ability, I conclude that Co-Ed gym classes should not be allowed.

Having school uniforms can prevent the distraction which basically creates from fancy dress ups. Those who dress up for school are most likely to be appreciated for their outfit, not for their talent. But if everyone has same uniform, there is no way to see these types of situations again. Then, everyone will understand the significance of being appreciated for their talent instead of their clothes. School Uniforms should be mandatory.

Children these days are getting bullied everyday for what their wearing.  Statistics show that every 2 minutes someone is bullied over what they’re wearing worldwide. Statistics show that in Northern America someone every 4 minutes someone is bullied over what they are wearing. Wow. Those statistics tells us that that if the difference is only 2minutes from worldwide, meaning the most amount of bulling over cloths happens in Northern America, and guess what? Most of the other countries have uniforms for school like India, china, Japan and ect., and we don’t. We have the most bulling over cloths worldwide. We have a strong country and strong jobs for most. Some are rich and some are not which makes what people are wearing different for what they can afford. Every family can go out of the way and give $200 for a year’s uniform, and there are lower chances of being criticised as rich or poor also. Tell me this, if you wore a uniform to school, the exact same as everyone else, what would there be to bully over? Every girl the same cloths, every boy wearing the same cloths, what’s the fuss? What’s there to be made fun of? What’s there to be pointed out at? Nothing. That would stop the criticisms over what people are wearing, by wearing a uniform.

Wearing a uniform allows children and teenagers to all be seen the same and be accepting to their talents. A survey was done on T.V. to see how the look of a person can affect the way they respond to beliefs and thoughts. A lady first went out dressing nicely in cloths normally asking for money for a train since she left her wallet at home. She gathered about $150 and had 0 criticisms. Then she wore cheap cloths and got a face mask with blended into her face perfectly making her nose big and large. She went out the next morning and only got $25 and LOTS of criticisms like “Eww”, “Get a life” , “For you no”. This survey tells us that the appearance of a person affects the way people think of each other, and there criticisms bring them down so bad like the way people think of the poor. People say meaning things that makes them feel that they can’t apply for a job and can’t move on in life. If in school that were to stop, the way that people look at each other from appearance people would be able to show talents, stand up, and prove to what they can be capable of after all every kid has a talent, but they may not be able to show it, and wearing uniforms helps stand against that fact.

Another good fact about having uniforms is that you don’t have to go through the trouble of wondering what’s appropriate and what is not. The uniform is appropriate and saves time for the school board going through the trouble of rules and announcements. There are usually rules regarding modesty issues, visible logos, offensive text on clothing, gang colors and symbols and more. Teachers and staff must monitor the students to make sure what they are wearing is appropriate. This is of course is avoided when all students are in a uniform. The look of wearing a uniform is respected by people like solider in their uniforms. It shows school spirit and pride walking down halls and being seen by others.

An awesome advantage is the saving of money. Instead of going to HOLLISTER, AEROPOSTALE and other expensive stores just buy new cloths again because you can’t wear the same cloths every day, you only need 1 or 2 and that would last a year and save you tons of cash for other activities you may not get to do so often due to expenses. And if you have a younger brother or sister the same gender as you, you can pass it on to them too, to save another $300.   With all the money a parent saves by not having to buy day to day clothes, they can (if they so choose) let their children buy a few nicer and more fashionable pieces for weekends and evenings. Wearing a uniform five days a week might make students appreciate their weekend fashions more--maybe enough to even take good care of them!

It’s pretty clear exactly how many kids worry more about what they wear and what they’re going to wear tomorrow, and how many new cloths they need and how everything has to match. Saying all that is a lot, what about actually doing them all? I don’t know about you, but there are people that stand 45minutes in front of their wardrobe wonder what to wear today/ tomorrow. Having a uniform cuts that stress for school cloths and all you now need to worry about is your studies. Worrying about cloths and actually placing stress on it causes big affects like in life jobs like homework. If you are built up about what to wear, you may rush or not do your homework, whereas if you have a uniform you can work without worries about cloths.

All in all uniforms decrease bulling, helps show some people’s inner talent , helps show and produce school spirit and reduces to 0 of inappropriate cloths, saves money, and helps stay focused in school. After all these things what’s left bad on not wearing them? I leave that for YOU to decide.

When was the last time you ever saw a women running for politics,  well  that was Kim Campbell all the way back in the year 1993 . After that year has there been any other women  running in politics besides  Kim Campbell , as you can see the answer is no, none have tried in the past coupe of years  to get into politics . But do you think women should run for politics ?. I  clearly think women should run for politics.

The first, and also the only women that ran in the politics that won was Kim Campbell . Kim Campbell was born on March ,10, 1947 , Kim is a canadien politician, laywer , university professor , diplomat and writer . She served as the 19th prime minister of canada serving from June 25 1993 - November 4 1993 (132 days). Campbell was the first and to date the only female prime minister of canada, and the only prime minister to have been born in British  Columbia.

First off,  the reason why I think more women should run for politics is because maybe  they would have  better ideas to improve our country and they  might know whats best. Also more women have a different perspectives from men. A study was proven in North America that women are known to be better legislators than men which pretty much means a person who makes laws , a member of a legislative body.

There have been many reasons why  some women don't like to run for politics is  because it takes time even though men and women  both have a right. Women still need to take care of running the home which is basically cooking, cleaning and doing the laundry , and also running for office takes time , effort and money. It takes time away from their  home duties like taking care of their kids which I  think  is kind of sterotypical because now a days more men are starting to take of their kids instead of moms which is okay because this gives them the chance to go in politics .But some females also don't like to be involved in mid-slinging and bipartisanship that politics involves.

The one most important thing that woman have to remember is  to belive in themselves that they to can run for politics and know one can judge how they would run the country because they too have a  right  and all they need is someone to just guide in the right direction.

I think the Nintendo 3DS® is better than the Sony PSP® because of its “5-star features”. For example, a 3D screen that can be adjusted for how much 3D you can handle or just play it like a regular DS game with no 3D with the 3D Slider™. Unlike that rugged PSP that doesn't even have 3D it DOES have take UMD. The 3DS takes kind of SD cards which click in to the 3DS. The PSP has an internet browser and the 3DS does not have a internet browser (yet... wel it will be added May 2011 the 3DS is not complete without internet)
SOOOOO.... I think the PSP is better until The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and untill the $299 price drops.

Libya, Egypt and Syria are all countries in common when it comes down to the lack of political participation/democracy. 51 out of 195 countries are fortunate enough to vote for their country’s leaders and express their opinion according to Wikipedia. All together that’s less than 4% of all the countries on the face of  the earth. The question is, is political participation/democracy important? The answer is defiantly yes and we have to do something about it because the governor will rule a long time, the people have the right to be free and be included and most important the governor should do what the people want and need.

To start off, all humans have the right to be free. Therefore we should decide who is best deciding what happens and how things are run by freedom of speech and voting. Not a small group of people. While were outside feeling isolated because we can’t state our opinion because we be severely hurt. As George Washington once said,  ‘If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.’   Maybe possibly killed. Is that a way to treat a human being? Is that how a ruler should “rule” their people?

Second, if the people get to vote then every five years they will be able to elect a new Governor or maybe re-elect the previous one. Unfortunately if the people don’t have the right to vote then the Governor can stay in power for a long period of time. Which leads to corruption because he/she knows they don’t usually have to worry about being kicked out of the “throne” because the people don’t have a say in what happens. So they start to become selfish and take the countries money and not focus on important things such as poverty. For example take Egypt’s past ruler Mubarak he was the president of Egypt for 30 years. After awhile he started to slack off as a president and wouldn’t divide money for his people fairly. Even worse after ruling for 30 years he planned that when he’s done and retired his son Gamal will rule after him. He just wont give up the throne.

Most important of all, it’s the people who matter the most. So the person in power should listen to the people voice and opinion! What kind of president doesn’t care about what their people think? What kind of person would vote for or follow a person like that? No one and that’s why those greedy people are powering because no one had the right to go against them! They have no other option but to start a protest and its hard. The problem is that, that can cause major damage not only to their country and environment but also to them. For instance 10s of thousands of people are dying in Libya right now because of protesting, but in the end all of it is going to pay off.

As stated many times throughout my speech and I will state it again political participation/democracy important is a severely negative thing. We should do what we can to stop it even by the littlest things. So therefore political participation/democracy is a 100% guaranteed important. So take action!

Experts state that in North America, 15% of kids are overweight and another 15% are at risk of becoming overweight. They become lazy, obese, and left behind. Shouldn’t we at least potentially find a way to solve this problem to get these numbers down? I don’t see how making exercise mandatory in school could have any problems. It sure worked for the East Asians, as both their minds and bodies have become healthier and ahead of us!  So why not us? Exercise does in fact, make you look and feel healthier, create good habits, and start you off with a fresh mind. I think the government should establish a rule where daily exercise is mandatory in school, at least for 30 minutes.

First off, student’s need to have daily exercise at schools basically because it will make them healthier. With this exercise, kids will establish healthy bodies that will be there for the rest of their lives. The child will not only feel better but they’ll look better, more toned and fit, and who wouldn’t want a strong, good looking body? In addition, having daily exercise will keep your child’s bones and muscles stronger, along with the numerous other physical positives. In no culture says the exercising is a bad thing, most support it and follow these methods for healthier lifestyles. With exercising, there will be a less chance in developing diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. You may not know it, but if exercising becomes daily at school, then this will actually reduce the health care costs. This is because with less unhealthy patients coming into the health clinic, you can increase the productivity because more student’s will be able to attend the schools and there will be less people needing treatment. Besides, wouldn’t that be the most logical thinking? To reduce costs, taxes, and create good habits? Which brings me to my next point, how exercise in school can create good habits.

With daily exercise being mandatory in school, we could establish healthy habits as “just being a normal thing.”  Less people will be sitting on the couch watching TV, they’ll be outside having fun and exercising their bodies. In other words, laziness will be a thing of the past.  Additionally, with this plan we could create good health systems for the future and a healthy life style as normal thing. Take East Asian countries for example. They have already established exercise as mandatory in school so that everyday, before school starts, they have to do at least 30 minutes of exercise, jogging, marching, or jumping jacks. Doesn’t seem much does it? In fact, only 5-9% of East Asians are obese, putting those numbers next to the huge amount of America’s obesity rate which is 30%, and with also taking into account that East Asia is much more populated than North America, you will truly find that mandatory exercices in school is a must!

Thirdly, if you exercise, with a healthy body comes a healthy mind. Exercise makes you feel calmer. When you exercise you create chemicals called endorphins in your body which help a person feel happier and more peaceful. In addition, more blood, oxygen, and brain cells are able to form in the brain which helps all types of different thinking skills. Likewise wouldn’t any teacher want their students to act calmer all while having increased thinking skills all because of 30 minutes of exercise in the morning. In addition, with exercise, you will also get better sleep, with less interruption while you are taking that snooze. Exercising gives people a sense of accomplishment. It increases your self-esteem and relieves anxiety and depression. In other words, it helps cure bad emotions and thoughts for you a have a more calmer and peaceful day. For this reason, exercise has gone as far into the experts field of doctors as a new way to cure some stressed out patients.

In conclusion, daily exercise in school should be a must. In any place, anywhere. We as the people, should work so that our governments, students and parents support this initiatives. If exercise becomes part of the school rules, than nothing will stand in the way to make our world even healthier and better. To be honest, as a child in school, the only thing that stands in the way is the laziness. Being tired, lazy, inactive, all which can change with just a simple amount of exercise in the morning. All I’m asking is for the government of North America to take into account of their own people. Their becoming lazy, obese, and inactive. The East Asian countries have taken the lead in both having a healthy mind and healthy bodies. Now it’s our turn to make a difference. Daily exercise in school SHOULD be a must!

There has been an on going debate on whether or not basketball (NBA) players get paid too much for what they do. NBA players do NOT get paid too much.

NBA players are here for our entertainment and for their well being and fitness or health. They are making millions of dollars each year on sponsors sales and fundraisers. We are paying to watch them play a game. That's like saying a lemonade stand is making too much money because people are paying to drink lemonade or what ever it is a man or woman is selling.

NBA players need money to help raise their families too. If you were making millions of dollars to entertain others would you? Especially if you had kids to feed, bills to pay, a car to fill with gas every week. For example take Shaq. He has 4 kids a huge car and a wife. If you thought he made too much money and took most away where would that leave him?  Or even his whole family!?

Secondly, they earn their money just like you do. If you worked all week and sometimes holidays and someone decided to take it all away, what would you feel like? You would be screwed up financially, you could possibly suffer emotionally and mentally maybe even physically!

Lastly, it's their profession it's their career choice just because they get paid astronomical amounts of money doesnt mean its not a career. Thats the same thing as someone working at McDonalds and telling a lawyer they get paid too much and they dont deserve it they do good honest harmless work for their salaries they've earned it.

In conclusion NBA players do not get paid too much money. They should be respected and they work hard for their money.

                                                    Check out this debate.

There are many sites these days that allow you to grade you teacher. Is this really necessary? Yes, kids should be allowed to grade their teacher.

First of all, letting your teacher know how well he/she teaches them, helps them to realise what works and what doesn't. For example,if the teacher thinks that a specific learning skill is working, but majority of the students don't share the same opinion, they should be able to let their teacher know.

Secondly, students should state their opinion because their may be a teacher who is not teaching well and students are uncomfortable with that particular teacher. But, just because kids do not like their teacher as a person doesn't mean that that should effect the evaluation, the response should be based on the teachings.

Lastly, if there are very good teachers, and the students agree with this, that would boost the teachers confidence because they could teach knowing that the students appreciate him/her.

Therefore, teachers should be evaluated by their students because it helps them improve, helps seperate the good and bad teachers, and also helps the teacher trust that they are doing a good job.

Teens are smoking even before 18. And they buy cigarettes from there friends who are older than 18 or much likley 18. If I had it my way cigarettes will never be smoked again. But I don't have it my way so the law is just  going to kill people. When teens start smoking at a younger age than 18 there is a 50%/100% that you will die quicker because there body is not done growinh and can not take the smoke into there body. So let's get back to the topic question! Should the age of buying cigarettes be 18? I think that people should not be able to buy cigarettes. You will die erlier if you start smoking young. Smoking will harm your body in all ways possible. Like I said if I had it my way smoking would be illegal everywhere. Do you really want to smoke and risk something happening to you. Cause it is atleast a 50% chance that you will die. You will have a hard time breathing going up stairs and running or many other things. So don't buy cigarettes or smoke them because it will be your fault when something goes wrong with your body.

PS.Smokeing is not cool in so many ways. And if your friends tell you to smoke, than there not really your friends. Because good friends would protect you and make sure you don't smoke.
